Fourth International LED professional Symposium Expo (LpS 2014)
Development thrives on a mutual exchange of scientific and industrial knowledge, discussions about promising solutions and a network that brings together key players from the areas of science and industry. This is the guiding theme of the annual LED professional Symposium Expo (LpS), with the impact of solid-state technologies keep the fundamental change process in the lighting industry going. Predictions for the next five to seven years are that we’ll see more performance increases of LED and OLED light sources along with continuous price declines. Besides the profitability increase, continuous improvements and innovations are being made in the fields of reliability, colour-stability, intelligent control systems, chip-designs based on nanotechnology and quantum dots, to name just a few, says the organiser, LED Professional. Papers, workshops and industrial submissions will look at LED and OLED lighting technologies. The lectures and workshops can be comprised of any topics concerning luminaire, lamp, module and component designs of LED and OLED lighting systems from engineering to application. The wide range of topics can include areas like light engines, optics, electronics, sensors and thermal management. For the first time, there will be an LED professional Scientific Award for the best scientific paper on the subjects of LED and OLED light sources at the LpS event. The most progressive submission will be given an award by an international jury made up of leading scientists. The LED professional Scientific Award winner will be remunerated with 3,000 Euros and the winning paper will be presented at the LpS and published in the November/December issue of LED professional Review.
