TME extends supercapacitor offering
The supercapacitors are for use in the automotive market, where they are incorporated into electric vehicle (EV) powertrains and IoT networks, where they can support energy harvesting activities. They are also suitable for consumer electronic devices, for example in camera flash subsystems of smartphones and back-up power supplies.

The SPSCAP components stocked by the distributor can be supplied in capacitance values ranging from 1F to 3000F. The cylindrical components use an acetonitrile electrolyte and have voltage ratings of 2.7, 2.85 and 3.0V DC. They are available with either radial or axial leads attached.

There are also modules designed for higher voltage usage, available, rated at 16V. All supercapacitors support a working temperature range of -40°C to 65°C. Depending on the particular model, duty cycle figures are between 500,000 and 1 million.

The latest models join other SPSCAP supercapacitors available from TME which are optimised for applications where rapid delivery of large amounts of energy is required. Components are available that can withstand impulse currents from up to 2368A.
