Thick film resistors support higher power designs

The Models CMP and CMP-A anti-surge devices have a wide resistance range from 1Ωmto 1MΩ and are rated up to 1.5W. The Model CHP-A is for even higher power designs. It delivers triple-rated power, and includes a resistor that provides 3W of rated power at 70°C. This is, claims the company, one of the highest rated resistor power offerings in the industry. Additionally, the Models CMP-A and CHP-A are AEC-Q200-compliant and sulphur-resistant.

They are manufactured using a thick film element printed onto a ceramic substrate, and tested in accordance with ASTM B809-95 methods which analyse the porosity of metallic coatings exposed to humid sulphur vapor.

The Model CMP is the enhanced performance version of an earlier resistor series. It offers a higher power rating, higher working voltage and higher pulse power handling capabilities than the CRM resistor series. It is available in a smaller 0603 form factor for use in highly integrated, space-constrained designs.

The resistance range, high rated power and pulse load features of all three resistors allow their use in a variety of applications such as consumer electronics, industrial automation, power supplies, LED lighting and communication base stations. They are all available in four footprints, from the 0603 (1608 Metric) to the 2512 (6431 Metric).

All three resistor families are available now and are RoHs-compliant and halogen-free.
