PCIM Europe scales up for 2023
Details have been announced for the conference programme for PCIM Europe 2023 (9 to 11 May).

Among the companies represented, 57% are international with industry leaders such as Fuji Electric Europe, Infineon, Mitsubishi Electric Europe, Semikron Danfoss, Wolfspeed, Nexperia, Rohm Semiconductor, Hitachi Europe and Texas Instruments exhibiting.

Alongside the exhibition in Nuremberg's Messe is a conference programme whic includes
around 400 presentations. Topics range from silicon and wide bandgap power semiconductors to packaging technologies, e-mobility and renewable energy technologies.

For the first time, a poster session will also be held on the last day of the conference. This will be a new format, a one-to-one exchange between experts and visitors in the entrance area of the exhibition centre.

There will also be the three stages within industry zones which focus on topics of the exhibition. There is the
E-Mobility & Energy Storage Zone, holding specialist presentations on the topics of electromobility and energy storage. Visitors can also learn about the specific products and services in live presentations on stands of companies which include Hitachi Energy Switzerland, Semikron Danfoss and Littlefuse.

The Exhibitor Stage will host product innovations from exhibiting companies, such as Vincotech and Weidmüller Interface.

The Industry Stage will host presentations and panel discussions on current research and development topics. Highlights include the panel discussions on "Wide Bandgap Design with GaN HEMT and Vertical GaN", "SiC is Sold Out for 2023 - Can GaN Help Me?" and "Support for Grid Integration of E-Mobility Charging Infrastructure Using Energy Storage".

The US pavillion will be populated with companies from the USA, and power supplies for IT and data centres.

There will also be three
special sessions focusing on relevant industry topics: ”Solutions for Future Medium Voltage Grids“, ”Power Electronics for E-Mobility“ as well as  ”Understanding Losses in WBG Power Devices“.

There will also be three keynotes: "How Life Cycle Analyses are Influencing Power Electronics Converter Design“, Franz Musil, Power Electronics Engineer at Fronius International; "On the Way to the DC Factory – The Open Industrial DC Grid for Sustainable Production Sites is Entering the Dissemination Phase”, Holger Borcherding, Scientific Director, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Ostwestfalen-Lippe; and  "HV Silicon and SiC Power Semiconductors; Key Components for Sustainable Energy Solutions”, Munaf Rahimo, President and Founder, MTAL

Just before the conference opens, there are seminars and tutorials in 7 and 8 May in the Arvena Park Hotel, Nuremberg. Delegates can discuss with experts in small groups and obtain first-hand, practice-oriented know-how. Special topics such as "Power Electronics in Electric Vehicles", "Drives", "WBG Devices" and "Reliability" will be presented in 11 half-day seminars and six full-day tutorials.

PCIM Europe Digital allows visitors and delegates to watch missed lectures, or re-watch them until 30 June 2023. .
