For demanding edge AI designs, Rutronik has announced it is offering a range of new IoT platforms from VIA Technologies that are tailored to industrial, commercial and consumer applications.

They consist of the SOM-5000, a system-on-module for integration into a carrier board, the VAB-5000, a Pico-ITX board, and the ARTiGO A5000, a highly complex integrated system. The company says all three products are fanless and provide excellent energy efficiency and expandability. The platforms are also powered by the MediaTek Genio 700 octa-core SoC and meet the most demanding requirements.

The company says designed to withstand the increasing demand for intelligent edge computing in a wide range of applications, the SOM-5000, VAB-5000 and ARTiGO A5000 represent a major advance in edge AI technology, enabling customers to create innovative and efficient edge AI solutions.

Powered by the MediaTek Genio 700, these solutions can deliver exceptional AI, graphics, video and computing performance, making them suitable for a wide range of environmental applications, such as environmental monitoring, energy-efficient battery management, and renewable energy system optimisation. The SoC features a robust octa-core CPU with two Arm Cortex-A78 processors and a powerful Mali-G57 GPU, ensuring efficient data processing and visualisation. Dual display capabilities and advanced AV1/H.265/H.264 video decoding enable high-quality video streaming and multi-view data displays.

Developers can leverage popular operating systems like Android, Yocto Linux, or Ubuntu to create tailored solutions for their specific needs. MediaTek's NeuroPilot SDK provides accelerated AI integration, supporting the development of intelligent systems capable of analysing data, detecting patterns, and delivering actionable insights across various real-world applications.
