Enhancements in thick film chip resistors improve resistor rated power

The 10 to 910mΩ resistors can be used for current detection in a variety of applications, including inverters, AC, and energy-efficient appliances.

The company has amended the resistive material to improve rated power to 2W in a compact 2550 size, which is four times higher than conventional short-terminal types. This contributes to improved energy savings and greater miniaturisation in high power applications, says the company.

The resistors are available in 48 values while optimisation of the element structure makes it possible to achieve best-in-class temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) characteristics among wide terminal thick-film chip resistors, claims the company. The result is minimal resistance fluctuation due to temperature changes, for high accuracy current detection.

The low-Ohmic resistors add to the company’s portfolio of resistors that provide high power, anti-surge, and sulfuration resistance. These new resistors add support for a wider variety of applications, points out the company.
