The compact, high efficiency DC/DC converters are available in a surface-mount format with wide input ranges.
Models in the series are fully regulated, with low noise characteristics. The isolated 2W DC/DC converters are available with nominal inputs of 3.3V (2.8 to 5.5V), 5.0 / 9.0V (4.5 to 13.2V), 12V (9.0 to 18V), and 24V (18 to 36V) for battery or bus-powered systems. Outputs available are 3.3, 5.0, 12, 15, and 24V. The converters feature short-circuit and over-current protection and meet EN 55032 class A or B limits for input noise with a simple external filter. No minimum load is required, and on/off control is standard, advises the company.
The RSH2 series operates from -40°C to 85°C without derating, making the converters suitable for demanding applications in industrial, test and measurement, and transport sectors.
The isolation rating is 2kV DC/60s (optionally 3kV DC/60s) with UL / IEC / EN 62368-1 certification. The parts are RoHS-2 compliant.
Supplied in a compact, lightweight DIP14 SMD case, the devices are available in tube or tape-and-reel packaging. The parts may be IR-oven or vapor-phase reflow soldered using industry-standard JEDEC profiles.
“The surface mount RSH2 series is a perfect way to generate isolated on-board power rails in mains and battery powered equipment,” says Matthew Dauterive, DC/DC product manager of Recom. The devices can also be used in ground-loop isolation for industrial sensors and bus communication networks, he adds.
The RSH2 series is available through all authorised Recom distributors or directly via the manufacturer. Samples can be requested via the company’s website.
