High frequency 100V gate driver from saves board space

It has a built-in bootstrap diode, capable of driving two N-channel MOSFETs in the half-bridge configurations that are commonly used for motor control and DC/DC power delivery functions. Target applications are autonomous robots, e-bikes and cordless power tools, which demand heightened efficiency with compact designs.

Its 100V floating high side driver has short propagation delays (typically 60ns) and delay matching (within 10ns) enabling higher switching speeds and reduced dead-time, for smaller, more efficient power system implementations, says the company.

Advanced MOSFET protection mechanisms are directly integrated into the device, to improve system reliability while optimising board space and reducing component count compared to traditional discrete solutions. An example mechanism is cross conduction prevention, so that the high side and low side MOSFETs are not on at the same time. It also has under-voltage lockout (UVLO) to address potential supply losses.

The enable pin for power management and low (<1μA) standby current combine to prolonged battery running times. The gate driver is compatible with control signals from microcontrollers and PWM controller ICs and supports TTL and CMOS logic level inputs (down to 3.3V).

The DGD0579U gate driver is supplied in the compact W-DFN3030-10 package, with a 3.0 x 3.0mm footprint and a 0.75mm profile height.
