Immersive website explores engineers workshop

The Innovation Hub allows users to virtually explore a modern engineer’s workshop. It has been created by Digi-Key to allow users to explore the immersive space and discover how Digi-Key can help bring a vision to reality. It includes featured products, tools, boards, calculators and videos for an interactive experience and access to the component distributor’s resources and content.

“The Innovation Hub enables students, makers and engineers around the world to engage with Digi-Key in a new and dynamic immersive web format,” said David Sandys, senior director of technical marketing at Digi-Key.

Within the Innovation Hub, there is the Test Bench experience, with featured tools and equipment, including oscilloscopes, soldering stations and digital multimeters. In the Boards Explorer experience, visitors are able to view more than 50 development boards in 360° from Digi-Key’s Boards Guide, as well as access overviews, datasheets and product detail page links.

The immersive experience also allows visitors to explore Digi-Key’s newest items and product specifications from leading suppliers, many of which are available with a 360° view. There is also the Calculator experience with interactive calculators and conversion tools.

In the Knowledge Center, video and resource libraries featuring content such as IoT and Automation and Control, are accessible, together with programs including myLists and DKRed.

The company announced plans to bring the Innovation Hub to trade shows and conferences. The Hub can be accessed from a desktop or laptop computer, and the company recommends using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge web browsers.
