They have also been upgraded to include wettable flanks for automated optical inspection (AOI).
The DC/DCs have an input range up to 36V and the output can be trimmed from 0.8V to 30V. There are two models in the series. The RPX-0.5Q variant delivers 0.5A and the RPX-1.5Q delivers 1.5A. Both are supplied in a tiny 3.0 x 5.0 x 1.6mm leadless, thermally-enhanced QFN package. Operating temperature is over 100°C ambient with derating. This capability is enabled through integration and advanced 3D packaging techniques using an over-moulded flip chip on leadframe (FCOL) construction for low package thermal resistance while keeping manufacturing and end-product pricing low, says the company. It also ensures EMI is low, and fixed-frequency operation makes any required additional filtering easy to implement, added the company.
The RPX series integrates the inductor and requires just external input and output capacitors, scaled for the customer’s application. On/off control and synchronisation inputs are provided with a power good output. Soft start along with short circuit, over-current, over-temperature, and input under-voltage protection is included.
Evaluation modules for both the RPX-0.5Q and the RPX-1.5Q are available.
The RPX0.5Q and RPX-1.5Q are available through all authorised Recom distributors or via the manufacturer. Samples can be requested via the company’s website.
