Recom adds 3W version to RSH DC/DC converter series
The RSH3 DC/DC converter joins the RSH2 series and features regulated, low-noise and isolated 3W outputs in a surface mount package. The converters also have nominal inputs of 12V (9 to 18V) and 24V (18 to 36V), which are useful for battery or bus-powered systems. Outputs are 5.0, 12, 15, 24, ±12 and ±15V.

For safety, they have short-circuit and overcurrent protection and meet EN 55032 class A or B limits for input noise with a simple external filter. No minimum load is required and the on/off control is standard.

The RSH3 series operates from −40°C to over 80°C without derating. They are therefore products suitable for industrial, test and measurement and transport applications.

The isolation rating is 2kV DC/60s (optionally 3kV DC/60s) with UL / IEC / EN 62368-1 certification. The parts are RoHS-2 compliant.

The RSH3 series is supplied in a compact, light-weight DIP14 SMD case, available in tube or tape-and-reel packaging. The parts may be IR-oven or vapor-phase reflow soldered using industry-standard JEDEC profiles.

According to Matthew Dauterive, Recom’s product manager, the RHS3 provide extra power for isolated on-board DC rails in mains and battery-powered equipment. It is also suitable for used in ground-loop isolation for industrial sensors and bus communication networks, he added.

The RSH3 series is available through Recom’s authorised distributors or directly from the manufacturer. Sample are available on request.
