Half-brick DC/DC converters have wide input for railway systems
The input range enables the use of 72V or 110V nominal DC inputs. The baseplate cooled modules meet the rolling stock IEC 61373 Category 1, Class B shock / vibration standards and are designed to meet EN 45545-2 (fire protection on railway vehicles). Railway applications include LED lighting, communications, control and automated train subsystems.

Efficiencies above 90% and high efficiencies at low load, combined with the reduced internal losses simplify the cooling of both the module and the ambient air. The DC/DC converters have increased spacing between the input and baseplate of up to 11.76mm. The input to output isolation is 3,000V AC, input to baseplate 2,500V AC and 500V AC output to baseplate.

Four output voltages - 12, 13.8, 15 and 24V – are available. The standard modules feature an accurate current share circuit allowing up to 11 units to be paralleled for redundancy or for higher power requirements. Remote on/off, remote sense and a DC good signal are also available. Options include a 12V 10mA auxiliary voltage (replacing the DC Good signal), non-threaded mounting holes, and latching over-voltage and over-temperature protection. The baseplate temperature range is -40°C to 100°C with ambient temperature ratings of -40°C to 85°C.

The modules measure 57.9 x 61 x 12.7mm and weigh 100g.

In addition to IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1, EN 45545-2, with CE and UKCA marking to the Low Voltage and RoHS Directives, the units also comply with EN 55011-A and EN 55032-A conducted and radiated emissions, IEC 61000-4 immunity standards with minimal external components.
