Fast 650V recovery rectifiers extend CFP diodes family
The four parts available in CFP3 and CFP5 packages intended for use in onboard chargers and inverters for electric vehicles, power converters, photovoltaic inverters and power supplies in industrial applications. The two standard devices for industrial applications are the PNU65010ER, in a CFP3 package, and the PNU65010EP (CFP5). The two AEC-Q101-qualified products are the PNU65010ER-Q (CFP3) and PNU65010EP-Q (CFP5).

These rectifiers are claimed to provide the optimal tradeoff between fast soft switching behaviour and low forward voltage drop to help minimise power losses in high-frequency applications. The small CFP footprint saves board space (compared to SMA/B packaged devices), for high density designs without compromise on electrical performance, says the company.

Nexperia also announced that it intends to develop its 650V (up to 30A) recovery rectifiers in surface mount packaging portfolio. For products with a current rating over 10A, there will be the option of ‘ultrafast’ or ‘hyperfast’ switching products in a choice of forward voltage specifications.

The first parts with higher current ratings of 2.0A and 3.0A in CFP packaging are planned for release in Q1 2023.

Further releases in DPAK / D2PAK are also scheduled for late 2023 and over the course of 2024. These will also be available in standard and automotive-qualified versions.
