It is the company’s first non-isolated bus converter in an industry standard, quarter brick format for high power computing, networking, telecommunications, data storage and test and measurement applications requiring a regulated 48V to 12V bus conversion. It operates at up to 900W with efficiencies as high as 97% and provides a single, regulated 12.25V output.
The design also incorporates a PMBus interface for digital control and monitoring.
The D/DC converter features a wide input range of 40V to 60V DC and has an A flat efficiency curve to deliver optimum power conversion performance for a wide range of loads and to minimize power consumption across multiple load scenarios.
The power supply is built around a baseplate which improves thermal management and simplifies attachment of a heatsink. With forced air cooling, the module can deliver full power over an operating temperature range of -40 to around 85°C.
The NDQ900 is a fixed-frequency converter with no minimum load requirement. Active current sharing facilitates the connection of multiple power supplies in parallel for applications requiring higher load current or redundancy.
The design includes a remote control function and a power good signal together with an integrated under-voltage lockout (UVLO) function and protection against over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature conditions. It is also covered by a two-year warranty as standard.
