The thermal and circuit design enable the parts operate to high ambient temperatures, for example to 80°C with no derating for the REC30E-4812SZ model. With derating and/or airflow, temperatures up to the case limit of 105°C are possible. High efficiency is maintained down to light loads for low standby losses. A shutdown control is included as well as a ±10% trim pin for single outputs.
Full protection is provided against over-temperature along with output short circuits, over-current, and over-voltage while the inputs are surge-rated to 50V and 100V for the two ranges.
Safety certifications are to IEC/EN 62368-1 and the converters comply with EMC standard EN 55032 class A without additional components and to class B with a simple external filter network. Reliability is typically over 500khrs according to MIL-HDBK 217F, GB at 25°C.
The REC30E-Z range with through-hole PCB mounting has a rugged metal casing and is encapsulated for use in Pollution Degree 2 harsh environments.
The converters are covered by a three-year warranty, and samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorised distributors or directly from Recom.
