The module is rated for 500W of continuous power and offers a wide 90 to 264V AC input range. The integrated PMBus control and monitoring is complemented with an intuitive GUI to simplify power supply optimization. It also enables system health measurements during operation.
The encapsulated construction supports operation in high pollution and harsh environments. It is also suitable for systems that require external mounting such as external signage, IP-sealed industrial automation systems, heavy industrial equipment that generates conductive dust and 5G telecomms communication nodes.
The AIF11WAC caters for telecomms and industrial applications which are transitioning to 48V power architectures in an effort to deliver improved performance while keeping energy consumption low, says Joe Voyles, vice president of marketing, industrial power conversion products at Advanced Energy. The module also supports this evolution, reduces component count and simplifies application design, he adds.
The AIF11WAC is designed for contact-cooled operation. It features an internal inrush limiting function that is matched to the hold-up function of the module, eliminating the need for external inrush current protection. Size and component count in the system can be further reduced via a 10V auxiliary output that enables low-power housekeeping circuitry to be supplied directly from the module rather than a second AC/DC power converter.
With no minimum load requirement, the module provides a regulated, isolated 48V output for loads up to 11A. The AIF11WAC incorporates active current share and start-sync functionality, for applications that require two units to operate in parallel.
