Rutronik extends capacitor portfolio with Vishay Intertechnology’s F340

The latest X1, X2, and Y2 film capacitors from Vishay Intertechnology are now available from the distributor. They suppress EMI for standard cross-line and line-bypass applications. The F340 series was designed to be robust against humidity. As a result, 1,000 hours of operation are easily possible in temperature humidity bias (THB) tests at 85°C and 85% relative humidity. They exhibit high stability in terms of capacitance, dissipation factor and insulation resistance, a combination which is claimed to enable a longer lifetime under harsh application conditions in industrial and automotive power electronics like battery chargers, renewable energy inverters, motor drives and UPS.

Rutronik offers a variety of other Vishay Intertechnology products, including a range of X1, X2, and Y2 safety capacitors with IEC60384-14 / AMD1 2016 Grade IIIB, available in two versions with rated voltages of 305V AC or 480V AC. For safety,  encapsulation consists of a UL Class 94 V-0 flame retardant plastic case and epoxy resin sealing.

Capacitance values range from 0.01μF to 20μF and the high ripple current capability of up to 18A at 10kHz also ensures a long service life, said the company.

The F340X1 has a rated voltage of 480V AC provides capacitance values from 0.22µF up to 8.2µF while withstanding operating voltages of up to 530V AC to ensure compliance with the permissible voltage variations in three-phase mains.

The F340X2 offers a capacitance range from 1µF to 20µF at a rated voltage of 305V AC.

The third member of the family is completed by the F340Y2 which features a rated voltage of 305V AC. Both the F340X1 and the F340Y2 are qualified in accordance with AEC-Q200. Capacitance range for the F340Y2 is 0.01µF to 1µF.

The capacitors are certified to EN, UL, and CQC for safety and moisture resistance.

Lead pitches are 15, 22.5, 27.5, 37.5 and 52.5mm.

The capacitors are lead-free (Pb) and RoHS-compliant. The F340X1 480V AC and F340X2 305V AC models are halogen-free.

The standard X1 capacitors are suitable for impedance applications and the Y2 models are suitable for standard line-bypass (between line and ground).
