The company says the VOMDA1271 draws all the current required to drive its internal circuits from the infrared emitter on the low-voltage primary side of the isolation barrier. No external power supply is required to provide VCC, making the optically isolated MOSFET driver more cost-effective. It is easy to use, AEC-Q102 certified and comes in a space-saving SOP-4 package. The components are available in tape & reel packaging.
VOMDA1271 has an integrated fast turn-off, which only requires 0.7 ms (typ.) to switch off and offers and offer a switch-on time of 0.05 ms. The components have a photovoltaic gate array and therefore do not require an additional power supply to ensure the required insulation test voltage of 3.750 VRMS. The resulting simplified design enables lower costs and reduces space requirements.
The optically insulated drivers operate reliably in a wide temperature range from -40 °C to 125 °C, making them ideal for use in automotive charging technology. The components are also microcontroller-compatible.
