Telit Cinterion says it is supplying the corresponding hardware with the 5G RedCap module FE910C04 and the M.2 card FN920C04 (Bagsize / Boxsize), which are now expanding Rutronik's wireless portfolio. The robust, industry-standard modules are reported to be suitable for use in a range of applications from campus network applications to private and public 5G applications for Industry 4.0 routers. Telit Cinterions’s products are available at www.rutronik24.com.
5G RedCap, also known as NR RedCap (New Radio Reduced Capabilities), closes the mid-speed gap, said to make it perfect for corresponding use cases in the areas of logistics, smart home, machines, measuring devices, eHealth and industrial sensors. It can improve performance and efficiency compared to LTE and promises maximum flexibility, enabling customers to make an easy transition to a secure 5G future.
The FE910C04 enables mid-speed 5G connectivity based on the latest 3GPP Release 17 RedCap technology. Its robust design boosts performance and efficiency, providing resilient and future-proof 5G connectivity for the most demanding IoT applications. It is part of the Telit Cinterion xE910 flagship module family and offers 5G NR radio access technology in the product family's 28.2 x 28.2 x 2.2 mm form factor. The xE910 family products – available for 2G, 3G and 4G – have a uniform form factor and common electrical and programming interfaces, allowing developers to implement a ‘design once, use anywhere’ strategy
The M.2 data card FN920C04 can enable mid-speed 5G connectivity and is based on the latest 3GPP Release 17 RedCap technology. It is industrial-grade (-40°C to 85°C), rugged, suitable for worldwide use, and features improved uplink performance, power-saving capabilities, and LTE Cat 4 fallback for optimal network coverage.
The module and M.2 card can improve operational efficiency and provide accurate GNSS positioning by supporting L1 and L5 frequencies, complemented by a dedicated antenna connector. The integrated processing capabilities enable full activation of connectivity supported by the Telit Cinterion OneEdge platform. In addition, these modules are equipped with integrated security features to protect the devices and ensure secure communication between the device and the cloud.
