YAGEO’s RP Thin Film Resistor series offers high precision and stability, as well as reliable performance even when exposed to moisture and sulphur.
Rutronik has announced it has expanded its portfolio with the RP thin film resistor series from YAGEO, specifically designed for high-precision and stable applications.

The company says thanks to a dedicated passivation concept, the resistors provide excellent resistance stability even under the influence of moisture and sulphur-containing atmospheres. This can make the RP series ideally suited for automotive, industrial and telecommunications applications and available via www.rutronik24.com.

The RP series is based on thin film technology, offering high precision, tight tolerances, and long-term stability. A key feature is the specially developed passivation layer, which protects the resistor from moisture ingress while shielding the sensitive resistive layer. This ensures consistent electrical performance even under harsh environmental conditions.

In addition, the company says the resistors provide excellent resistance against sulphur-containing atmospheres, which can otherwise lead to corrosion and failure in industrial and automotive environments. As a result, the RP series can significantly contribute to improved system reliability and extended product lifetime.

With a wide range of case sizes from 0201 to 1210, a resistance range from 1 Ω to 5 MΩ, and power ratings from 1/20 W to 2/5 W, the components can be flexibly integrated into a wide variety of designs. Thanks to low temperature coefficients (TCR) and low electrical noise, the resistors are particularly well suited for precise measurement and control applications.

The devices are also AEC-Q200 qualified, enabling their use in safety-critical automotive applications. In addition, the resistors are Pb-free without RoHS exemption, making them especially suitable for applications with stringent environmental and compliance requirements.
