High-efficiency modules have wide input voltage for industrial and telecomms
The PKB5000W series delivers efficiency of typically 91.5% and is available in industry-standard eight-brick format. The open-frame isolated 120W eighth-brick modules feature a wide input range of 18 to 75V DC, which means that the device is also suitable for 24V or 48V telecomms systems. The industry-standard through-hole eighth-brick format, measures 58.4 x 22.9 x 9.91mm. An optional baseplate version is also available for applications that require conduction cooling. The single output units offer the nominal outputs of 3.3, 5 or 12V DC with maximum outputs of up to 30A and 120W. Maximum outputs are: the PKB5110WPI with 3.3V, 30A and 99W; the PKB5111WPI with 5V, 20A, 100W; and the PKB5113WPI with 12V, 10A and 120W. The series operates over the -40 to 110°C and provides 2250V DC I/O isolation meeting functional isolation and 1500V basic insulation safety requirements, according to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1. Other protection features are output-over-voltage protection; input-under-voltage shutdown; over-temperature protection; and output short-circuit protection. The module also has remote sense capability, which can be used to compensate for up to 5% voltage drops between the output pins and the point-of-load.
