The company has expanded its DCM Converter Module Series of isolated, regulated DC/DC converters, for use in applications such as aerospace, electric and hybrid electric vehicles, rugged systems, industrial, and telecoms or datacomms. The modules are available in nominal input voltages of 24, 28, 48, 270, 290, and 300V with nominal outputs of 48, 36, 28, 24, 15, 12, and 5V. Packages are available up to 600W.
he modules can be coupled with the company’s FPA and/or ZVS regulators for dense, efficient, and scalable source-to-load power, says the company. Designers can also couple DCMs downstream with ChiP (Converter housed in Package) and SiP PoL regulators.
The use of DC-ZVS topology typically achieves 93% typical efficiency with power density exceeding twice that of conventional DC/DC converters, claims the company. The modules offer power density up to 76W/cm3, to optimise size, space, and weight in end systems. Up to eight DCMs can be paralleled in an array without derating or additional circuitry and can realise up to a 4.8kW DC/DC.
There are two through-hole package options. The 4623 (46 x 23mm) ChiP package is capable of up to 600W and a 3623 (36 x 23mm) ChiP package is capable of up to 320W.
