The power module is designed to meet growing demand for higher power density within the same footprint, such as motor controls for drives in elevators, escalators, fans or pumps.
The module contains a three-phase rectifier, a brake chopper, a three-phase inverter and a NTC thermistor for temperature measurement. It has a blocking voltage of 1200V, to reach a maximum current rating of 150A. This is, according to the company, the highest current in the market for this design.
The housing has a base plate and corresponds to industrial standard dimensions, making it suitable as a drop-in replacement for existing designs. When used in drives, the module allows up to 30% more output power with the same footprint, claims the company. The modules integrate the IGBT4 chip with Trenchstop technology.
The latest EconoPIM module 1200V/150A is available with solder pins or PressFIT pins. (This applies to all variants featuring the IGBT4 chip in Trenchstop technology.) Modules are optionally available with thermal interface material (TIM). Production is underway, and samples are available for ordering now.
