The DCM ChiP (Converter housed in Package) is the company’s DC/DC converter module that operates from an unregulated, wide range input to generate an isolated, regulated DC output. The addition of 25 products to the DCM family have an output voltage regulation of ±1%. The series is claimed to have unrivalled power densities of 1,032W/in3, to allow engineers to drive loads requiring tighter regulation with minimal additional circuitry or downstream components.
The DCM ChiP module operates from an unregulated, wide range input to generate an isolated, regulated DC output. The series uses high frequency zero-voltage switching (ZVS) topology, to consistently delivers high efficiency across its entire input voltage range, says the company.
The latest DCMs are used across defence and industrial applications that require tighter output voltage regulation. Application examples are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ground vehicle, radar, transportation and industrial controls. The DCM ChiPs are available in M-grade, which can perform at temperatures down to -55°C.
Output voltages for the new DCMs range from 3.3 to 48V and 80 to 500W with input ranging from 28 to 300V, depending on the model. Package options are the 3623 ChiP or 4623 ChiP measuring 1.5 x 0.8 x 0.2 inch (38 x 20 x 5.0mm) and 1.8 x 0.8 x 0.2 inch (45 x 20 x 5.0mm) respectively.
