The inductors are available in 12 inductance values from 0.33 to 8.2µH, with current ratings up to 15.2A and soft saturation characteristics, says the company. The low DC and low AC losses make them suitable for a range of DC/DC converters (up to 5.0MHz). Performance improvements include a wider range of inductance values and improved Irms current ratings.
The DC resistance is the lowest currently available, claims the company, and up to 45% lower than its next lowest soft-saturation products. The lower DCR and higher Irms also allow the inductors to operate at much cooler rates than other components.
The inductors are qualified to AEC-Q200 Grade 1 standards (-40° to 125°C ambient) with a maximum part temperature of 165°C. They exhibit no thermal aging issues, says the company, making them suitable for automotive and other harsh-environment applications. They also have RoHS-compliant, tin-silver-over-copper terminations and are halogen-free. The composite construction minimises audible buzzing.
