The AEC-Q101-qualified TVS devices provide impulse power dissipation up to 6000W and operate at up to 175°C, max Tj. They are available in ratings of 3.6, 4.6 and 6.6kW, and are therefore suitable for critical load dump applications to protect onboard electronic devices from high voltage surges emanating from the alternator should the battery become disconnected.
The TLD5S, TLD6S and TLD8S are offered in industry-standard DO-2018-AB packages, and there are 57 part numbers in total, offering working standoff voltages from 10 to 43V. This is sufficient to cover automotive battery voltages. They are also claimed to have an industry-best clamping capability - 17.0 to 69.4V.
In addition to AEC-Q101 standards, the TLD series devices meet ISO7637-2 and ISO16750-2 surge specifications and IEC 61000-4-2 (Level: 4) and ISO 10605 (Level: L4) electrostatic discharge specifications.
They also have applicable standoff voltages that meet Japan’s JASO A-1 (14V) and JASO D-1 (27V) load dump requirements.
All TLD Series devices are compliant with RoHS directive 2011/65/EU and in accordance to WEEE 2002/96/EC. They are halogen-free according to IEC 61249-2-21 and meet moisture sensitivity level 1, per J-STD-020.
The company also offers custom testing to customers’ specifications.
