Rectifiers offer industry leading 8A max current
The TUAS8x series of surface mount rectifiers are claimed to be the only devices in a space saving package that combines high voltage performance (up to 1kV) at current levels above 5A.  Spice models are available online for ease of design.

Rectifiers in the series are available with ratings from 200 to 1,000V and up to 8A maximum current. The wettable flank package enables higher power density, increased manufacturing yields and reliability in a wide range of power conversion applications, adds the company.

The industry standard, SMPC4.6U SMD package is configured with two anode and one cathode, wettable flank terminations, and is designed for automated placement and automated optical inspection (AOI). This package also offers a small footprint, low height, improved power dissipation and high resistance to thermal shock.

The package is suitable for lower cost AOI manufacturing and offers higher production yield, claims the company. Sam Wang, vice president, Taiwan Semiconductor said the devices provide higher power density, improve manufacturability and reliability via resistance to thermal shock and dissipate heat into the PCB faster than alternative package configurations.

Target applications include silicon, GaN or SiC- based power conversion circuits in commercial, industrial, telecom/datacom power systems, freewheeling diodes and wherever general-purpose rectification is required.
