Proton-Electrotex introduces IGBT modules equipped with drivers

The IGBT drivers are designed for use with IGBT modules in converters for solar and wind energy, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), electric vehicles and frequency converters. They feature optical isolation of control circuits, under-voltage protection and safe shutdown to protect transistors against short-circuits.

The IGBT drivers have an independent control mode and half-bridge mode. Additionally they can be customised according to a customer’s request. Installation of the driver does not require a special adapter board; the driver is soldered to control terminals or a by wired connection.

The thyristor drivers are designed to control power thyristors rated for currents from 160 to 5,000A and voltage classes up to 1,800V. Typical applications are in converters for solar and wind energy, UPS, soft starters and active rectifiers.

The driver design protects against short input pulses. It has compact dimensions, measuring 54 x 32 x 26mm and can also be customized on request. The driver can be installed on a PCB with through-hole soldering or mounting into a board socket.

The company’s drivers can be used with third-party semiconductor modules.
