It allows users to simulate the entire circuit, determine currents and voltages on all elements as well as to use real models of components, carry out spectral decomposition and to determine the power factor and harmonic distortion coefficient.
There are four main modules to the program. The authorisation module covers sign-up, log-in and password recovery; the calculation module manages the calculation of currents and voltages as well as losses and temperatures; the graphics module is responsible for plotting HTML and PDFs and the report module generates a PDF report for emailing.
The tool allows the user to select any of IGBT modules produced by Proton-Electrotex. Designers can specify the circuit and its input data (e.g. DC bus voltage, output frequency, phase load) and to set up PWM and choose between calculations for chip or base temperature.
Calculations can be made for DC/DC boost, DC/DC buck, DC/DC SR-motor, DC/AC 2L VSC and DC/AC 3L-NPC VSC circuits.
Electrical and thermal calculations can be carried out separately or sequentially. Semiconductor elements in the electrical task are assumed to be ideal switches. Energy losses occur instantly when a semiconductor device transitions from one state to another.
