The RMOD500-W range of compact DC/DC converters is designed for off-highway e-mobility applications. It can be used to generate an isolated power rail for auxiliary functions in electric vehicles (EVs).
“The products can be used to generate an isolated power rail for auxiliary functions in electric vehicles in application areas such as material handling, construction, sports venues, and in industry generally,” says Marco Kuhn, Recom’s business development manager.
The DC/DC converters deliver 500W output. The fully-enclosed, chassis-mounted parts are available with IP67 rating and feature an input range of 32 to 96V, suitable for nominal 48V, 60V, 72V and 80V battery supplies. Outputs available are 13.7V, 13V, 12.4V, 11.7V, 24.5V and 23.5V. Parts may be paralleled for higher power. The certified isolation rating is to 2.25kV DC and ambient operating temperature range is from -40 to 90 degrees C.
There is input under-voltage and reverse polarity protection as well as over-temperature, output over-current and over-voltage protection. Parts are qualified for EMC, shock/vibration, thermal shock/temperature cycling, salt mist, water/dust ingress and safety.
The RMOD500-W measures 198 x 113 x 45mm including connectors and is designed for baseplate cooling. The unit can be fitted in any unprotected part of a vehicle thanks to the water- and dust-proofing, including the connectors, advises Recom.
