125/150W switched mode power supply is compact for high power density
Supplied in a 2.0 x 4.0-inch (50 x 100mm) open frame design, the switch mode power supplies (SMPS) provide 125W under natural convection, and up to 122W in an aluminium case. Under forced air cooling, a constant output of up to 150W is achieved, says the company. To ensure long service life and reliability at this high power density, the company says it overcame a number of design challenges, such as placing the surface mount semiconductors on the board in such a way as to dissipate excess heat through copper surfaces, acting as heatsinks on the board and through an aluminium base plate via heat-conducting pads.

The power supplies operate at input voltages between 90 and 264V AC at temperatures ranging from -30 to 70°C. Modules with 12, 24, and 48V outputs are available. The modules have short-circuit and over-voltage protection and a typical efficiency of 91%.

The modules are suitable for use across the world, and are certified according to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 as well as the new IEC/EN/UL62368-1 standard. They comply with the RoHS directive and EN55022/24 Class B for EMC. The modules carry a three-year guarantee. Samples are available via the manufacturer’s distribution network.
