TDK-Lambda adds slim DIN rail power supply to DRB series

It is just 84mm, which provides additional space for other DIN rail modules, says the company, or allows the use of a smaller enclosure. It can be used in factory automation, industrial process control, semiconductor fabrication, communications and test and measurement equipment.

The DRB480 rugged metal case measures 124 x 84 x 125mm. It operates from 90 to 264V AC input enabling worldwide use. It has a 48V 10A output and features a DC OK relay contact in addition to an LED indicator. The output can be adjusted from 48 to 52.8V to compensate for series blocking diodes or MOSFETs in redundant configurations.

Input to output isolation is 3,000V AC, input to ground 1,500V AC and output to ground is 500V AC. The power supply is convection-cooled and rated for operation over the -20 to 70ºC ambient temperature range, with cold start at -40ºC. Linear derating is above 50ºC to 62.5% load at 70ºC. The power supply is up to 92% efficient to reduce internal heating of the electrolytic capacitors. Field life is in excess of 10 years with 24 hours a day operation at 75% load, 230V AC input and 40ºC ambient.

The unit is certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1, UL 508 and is CE marked for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directives. It meets EN 55011-B, EN 55032-B, CISPR11-B, CISPR32-B and EN 61204-3 (Class A) radiated and conducted emissions. The DRB480 complies with EN 61000-3-2 (Class A) harmonic currents, the EN 61000-4 immunity standards and line interruptions to SEMI F47.
