Non-isolated DC/DC range is in SMD LGA

The range of 3A non-isolated DC/DCs in a DOSA-compatible LGA package has an adjustable output from 1.0 to 24V and input voltage up to 36V.

The compact, non-isolated DC/DCs are supplied in standard 12.19 x 12.19 x 3.75mm DOSA-compatible, thermally-enhanced LGA package. Available pre-set outputs are 3.3V (trimmable 1.0 to 9V), 5V (trimmable 1.0 to 9V), 12V (trimmable 9.0 to 24V), or 15V (trimmable 9.0 to 24V). All variants operate up to 36V input with a low dropout voltage of 500mV or less.

All parts operate to 100°C ambient with some load derating but without the need for forced air cooling. Efficiency is up to 94% allowing the full output current of 3A across the input voltage range.  Efficiency at low loads, combined with a low quiescent current of 30µA (for the 3.3V version), makes them suitable for applications that have sleep modes such as microcontrollers and transceivers. The parts also feature six-sided shielding for low radiated EMI and thermal management.

Protection features for under-voltage lockout, short circuit protection, over-current protection and over-temperature protection are combined with the ability to drive high capacitive loads up to 0.2F. Power sequencing, soft start, on/off control, remote sensing and a power good signal are also provided.

An RPMB-3.0-EVM-1 evaluation board is available for testing component positions to enable filter networks to be developed for compliance with class B conducted EMI levels.

Designers can now drop 24V directly to voltages as low as 1.0V to power sensors, displays and wireless modules such as GPRS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-mesh, explains the company.

Samples are available from all authorised distributors or directly from the company.
