PEM announces Rogowski current probe 100mm and 3.5mm thick at PCIM Europe
It joins the CWT HF family, designed for high speed, high voltage CMR, AC current measurement and available in a variety of coil sizes.

The CWT Rogowski current probes are a convenient, wide bandwidth, accurate and low insertion impedance method of measuring alternating currents, says the company. In addition to the ability to attenuate interference from fast local voltage transients and retain a small size, the optimised high frequency performance measures rapidly changing AC currents.

The current probes are therefore suitable for measuring current in today’s renewable and power electronic applications.

The CWTMini50HF has a coil size of just 100mm and 3.5mm thick. It has a rise time capability of 12.5ns, which is suitable for the challenging environment of converters using new power SiC semiconductor switches, advises the company.

The CWT HF family encompasses models with coils ranging from 300 to 1,000mm, or even longer. They enable measurement in applications as diverse as high frequency bearing current in machine shafts, lightning strikes and pulsed power applications and power measurement in large motor drives.

PEM has presented many technical white papers on noise immune, wide-band Rogowski probes at international conferences. It also offers a number of detailed technical notes relating to the CWT HF family providing advice on best practice, practical measurements showing the performance in real world applications and useful information on inherent probe delay, rise-time capability, slew rate and bandwidth.
